Other than that, pretty much nothing. Oh, there is the increased martial comprehension too! If he ever does get to combat, in theory he should be able to kick butt.

So I suppose if this were an RPG and he had to buy those advantages from the start at character creation, he would also have to buy some serious flaws to balance out the ledger. That is the only explanation I can come up with.
